Redfin Recruitment is working in partnership with a worldclass, branded food business in order to identify and secure several production leaders for its 24/7, full automated food processing facility in Manchester, UK.

In order to be considered for this position you must have experience of leading food or drink production teams within a fast paced, fully automated food factory environment. Job Title: Production Manager - Food Manufacturing

Location: Greater Manchester, United Kingdom

Reports to: Site Operations Director

Remuneration: £35,000 - £40,000 plus shift allowances and excellent benefits

As a line leadership position you will be both responsible and accountable for the development of your people, the integration of approved strategic manufacturing plans and the efficient and effective management of the production lines under your guidance.

The site work on a 24/7 basis and supplies food products to all the major retail customers as well as a wide range of food service channels within the UK food  and drinks industry. As such this facility is regularly audited from customers such as Tesco and Asda to McDonalds and JD Wetherspoons.

Working in collaboration with the engineering, SHEQ and technical teams you will ensure that the safety and quality of both products and people remains the number one priority, and this will be achieved by regularly being 'on the factory floor'. We’re looking for someone who will lead by example and ensure exceptional regular follow up and feedback is undertaken.

As part of the businesses wider leadership culture you will be a natural solutions finder. You will excellent at root-cause analysis and you will be proficient at communicating and rectifying any issues before escalation occurs. You will also be naturally driven to improve efficiencies, reduce wastage and downtime etc. and will do this through your people.

For this role we are looking for someone with the following criteria:

  • Experience of leading and managing production teams in a food manufacturing environment, ideally within a 24/7 multi-shift facility
  • Knowledge of high volume, fully automated food manufacturing systems, machinery and processes
  • Demonstrate experience in developing people and improvements on OEE, TPM and TIMWOODS
  • Experience with UK retailer and global food service customer auditing requirements
  • Knowledge and understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
